The Social Services Department work directly with individuals and families to ensure that they are safeguarded is the role of the Safeguarding Boards to ensure that all departments are doing what they need to in order to safeguard children and vulnerable adults.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Safeguarding Boards hold quarterly meetings for this purpose. These meetings are open to the public (except for exempt sections) and the dates are advertised in the Penguin News and on the website for the Legislative Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Adult Safeguarding Board was established in 2020 to prevent abuse and neglect of adults.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Function<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To prevent abuse and neglect of adults who have care and support needs, are experiencing or are at risk of abuse or neglect and as a result of those needs are unable to protect themselves against the abuse or neglect or the risk of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
