As charities in the Falkland Islands are regulated under the Charities Act 1960, (as it applies to the Falkland Islands), there are three appointed Charity Commissioners. The Attorney General holds the title of Chief Charity Commissioner, and the Registry Service currently oversees the register of charities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The register of Charities also includes an approved list of charities. The approved list of charities provides a list of overseas-registered charities which are approved for tax deduction purposes, under section 57B(2) of the Taxes Ordinance 1997.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can apply to the Charities Commissioner for an overseas-registered charity to be added to the approved list, however this is subject to Executive Council approval. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Index to Register of Charities<\/strong> (listing charity names and numbers and dates of registration) is gazetted if any amendments are made to the overseas list, however the list is available upon request free-of-charge (preferably by email), or by download below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
