Planning Policy & Guidance<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

An overview of Falkland Islands planning policy and guidance, including the Development Plan, conservation areas, designated buildings, and planning notes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Development Plan, The Plan, comprises of the Falkland Islands Structure Plan and the Stanley Local Plan. Both were adopted in 2015 and cover the period 2015\u2013 2030. The Town Plan and Structure Plan are presented together for ease of use, however, legally they are separate entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planning decisions must be taken in line with the \u2018Development Plan\u2019 unless material considerations indicate otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with many designations of natural importance, there are a lot of considerations to be made for the interaction, conservation and enhancement of these nationally significant features. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
