{"id":560,"date":"2023-11-02T14:15:00","date_gmt":"2023-11-02T14:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gov.fk\/maritimeauthority\/?page_id=560"},"modified":"2026-02-16T08:54:52","modified_gmt":"2026-02-16T08:54:52","slug":"98-local-notice-to-mariners-05-2023","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.gov.fk\/maritimeauthority\/coastal-state\/local-notices-to-mariners\/98-local-notice-to-mariners-05-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Ship to Ship Transfer Regulations 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"yoast-breadcrumbs\"><span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.fk\/maritimeauthority\/\">Home<\/a><\/span> \u00bb <span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.fk\/maritimeauthority\/coastal-state\/\">Coastal State<\/a><\/span> \u00bb <span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.fk\/maritimeauthority\/coastal-state\/local-notices-to-mariners\/\">Local Notices to Mariners<\/a><\/span> \u00bb <span class=\"breadcrumb_last\" aria-current=\"page\">Ship to Ship Transfer Regulations 2023<\/span><\/span><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:1vh\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-post-title\">Ship to Ship Transfer Regulations 2023<\/h1>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:1vh\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-content-justification-left is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-04d632e2 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>N<sup>o<\/sup>&nbsp;05\/2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be advised that as of&nbsp;<strong>30<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;November 2023<\/strong>, the new ship to ship regulations 2023 will be in force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These new regulations will bring into force Chapter 8 (<em>Prevention of Pollution during the transfer of oil cargo between oil tankers at sea<\/em>) of Annex I of MARPOL and will require the notification of bunkering operations in the Falkland Islands waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notification mechanisms under Regulations 9 and 11.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Under both regulations, notifications should be made to the Falkland Islands Maritime Authority (FIMA) Duty Officer via e-mail to:&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:maritimedutyofficer@sec.gov.fk\"><\/a><a href=\"mailto:maritimedutyofficer@sec.gov.fk\">maritimedutyofficer@sec.gov.fk<\/a>.
