This service is staffed by 2 Physiotherapists and a Therapy Assistant.

Physiotherapy care and support are provided across both primary and secondary care.

Along with regular outpatient clinics, the team work on the hospital ward to assess and treat those who are acutely unwell, and with the Occupational Therapist and Community Services Team, to provide rehabilitation and re-enablement at home, including at Tussac House.

Physiotherapy focuses on self-empowerment, health promotion and goal achievement. This can be through education, manual treatment, stretching and strengthening exercises, supports, and activity modification. Women’s Health, diagnostic ultrasound and joint injections are also available. Oversees orthopaedic and spinal referrals are managed through the physiotherapy department.

Exercise classes include chair-based, balance, pool-based, and upper and lower limb rehabilitation. The team also run public education talks periodically.

Referrals can be made independently, with forms available at reception, or through your healthcare practitioner.
