Hill Cove Mountains \nNational Park<\/h1>\n\n\n

The Hill Cove Mountains tower up to 700m above sea level and contain the second and third highest peaks in the Falklands, Mount Adam and Mount Robinson. Among these high rocky peaks, you can explore wetland-rich valleys coursing with streams, deep tarns and grasslands. If you look more closely into these habitats, you\u2019ll soon see one of the primary reasons that make this place so unique. Nestled within the mosaic of upland habitats are over half of the total species of native flora in the Falklands, including many of the country\u2019s rarest. Hill Cove Mountains National Park was designated in 2025 to protect this incredible biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to access the park<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Walking<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A parking area is located at Hell\u2019s Kitchen, approximately 1 mile south of the Hill Cove settlement on the main road. The boundary of the national park lies approximately 400m east of the parking area across privately-owned land. Follow the marked trail to reach the park boundary. This is the easiest access for those who would like to enjoy the park on foot. Permission is not required to access the park on foot from the parking area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Driving and on horseback<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The national park is surrounded on all sides by privately-owned land. There is no public road leading into the park and vehicle access is only available via informal private tracks. Anyone wishing to take their vehicle or horse into the park must seek permission in advance from a neighbouring landowner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Driving within the park is permitted on approved routes. There are no roads in the park. Driving must only be undertaken by experienced off-road drivers with suitable four-wheel drive vehicles. Visitors are reminded to stay to existing tracks and avoid areas which could lead to soil erosion or bogging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
