Schlumberger Dry 1% TFM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Colour (IWTO \u2013 56) D65\/10 &amp; C\/2(w)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vegetable Matter Base (IWTO \u2013 19)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gross mass<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Declared Tare<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nett Mass<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Total bales<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bale numbers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits of coring locally:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Opens up the opportunity to sell wool to a greater number of destinations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sell it in the international market place and gain a price for their product that I based on world market indicators.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To rationalise wool freight logistics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To increase flexibility as to time of selling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2007\/08 the Falkland Island Wool Company, which operate the wool warehouse on FIPASS, have been using a second hand semi-automatic core\/grab machine replacing the antiquated hand coring system. The main purpose of grab sampling is to test the length &amp; strength of the staple and the position of the break within the staple. In countries that sell wool by auction the grab sample is also used for display to let potential buyers see and feel the quality of the wool. Only main lines tend to get grab sampled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grab sampling in the Falklands increased dramatically during the covid era when it became apparent that without this \u2018extra\u2019 data, Falkland\u2019s wool was being heavily discounted, as seen in the chart above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The criteria shown on the IWTO Test Certificate are;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Farm Brand<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wool Description<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lot Number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gross Mass<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Declared Tare<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nett Mass<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bale Numbers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mean Staple Length (mm)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coefficient of Variation Staple Length (%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mean Staple Strength (N\/Kt)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distribution of position of break Tip: %, Middle: %, Base: %<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Grab sampling is vital to wool buyers to fully understand the characteristics of the wool they are buying to determine processing abilities and end use. Lots f wool on the market without this data tend to be discounted in price due to unknown factors i.e. Length, Strength and Mid-break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information on coring please
